China has world's largest charging infrastructure network

On June 18, Li Chao, spokesperson for China's National Development and Reform Commission, announced that by the end of May 2024, the total number of electric vehicle charging infrastructure in China had reached 9.92 million units, a year-on-year increase of 56%. Among these, public and private charging facilities accounted for 3.05 million and 6.87 million units, respectively, with year-on-year growth rates of 46% and 61%. Thus, China has now established the world's largest, most extensive, and most diverse charging infrastructure network.

CATL invests in IM Motors

According to the Chinese corporate database Tianyanch, IM Motors Technology Co., Ltd. has recently undergone business changes, adding several new shareholders. These include Bank of China Financial Asset Investment Co., Ltd. under the Bank of China, Ningbo Meishan Bonded Port Area Wendin Investment Co., Ltd. under CATL, CPIC, and QingTao(KunShan)Energy Development Group Co., Ltd. Additionally, SAIC Motor and Zhangjiang Hi-Tech, which previously held indirect shares, have now directly acquired portions of the company's shares. Concurrently, the company's registered capital has increased from approximately 10.85 billion yuan to around 13.77 billion yuan.
