CATL, BAIC, Xiaomi, Jingneng Group break ground on battery base in Beijing

On June 18th, the groundbreaking ceremony for the Beijing Contemporary Amperex Battery Base project, jointly invested by CATL, BAIC Group, Jingneng Group, and Xiaomi Group, was held. The project is designed to meet high standards as a "Lighthouse Factory" and a "Zero-Carbon Factory," utilizing CATL's highly automated and flexible production lines. Once completed, it will provide battery products to automotive clients in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, including BAIC Group and Xiaomi EV, helping them enhance the competitiveness of their new energy vehicle products.

EVE Energy unveils 6C fast-charging large cylindrical battery

On June 18, at the iMLB 2024, EVE Energy launched its new large cylindrical battery product, the Omnicell battery. This battery features 6C fast-charging capability, allowing electric vehicles to achieve a 300-kilometer range with just a 5-minute charge.

On June 18th, the groundbreaking ceremony for CATL's Beijing battery base project took place in Beijing's Yizhuang area. The project will be constructed in two phases and is scheduled to commence production in 2026. It aims to supply new energy vehicle manufacturers such as BAIC Group, Xiaomi EV, and Li Auto. It is CATL's first battery factory in North China.

BAIC Group, CATL said to form strategic partnership

According to media reports, BAIC Group is set to enter into a strategic cooperation agreement with CATL. Sources reveal that the collaboration will focus on several areas, including the supply of power batteries, the implementation of battery swapping and Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) technology, and the joint development and application of new products based on the CIIC integrated intelligent chassis. In response to this news, a representative from BAIC Group stated to the media: "The official announcement will be made today."
