Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On June 17th, Hyundai Motor officially announced the pre-sale price for the China edition of the IONIQ 5 N high-performance EV model, starting at 398,800 yuan. Pre-sales for this model are set to begin on June 20th at 12:00 noon on the official website.

The China-spec IONIQ 5 N retains the design of the original overseas variant, featuring exclusive performance components that enhance its visual impact. The front end includes a closed-off grille with a prominent "N" emblem and distinctive U-shaped headlights on either side, creating high recognizability. Additional contrast-colored trim on the front bumper adds a touch of sportiness.

The side profile of the new car is compact, with a slightly upward-sloping waistline and large wheels that add to its sporty appearance. It also comes with a high-performance braking system and side skirts.

The rear features taillights with a parametric design that are highly visible when lit. The roof spoiler and rear diffuser not only add to the multi-layered look of the rear but also enhance the vehicle's aerodynamics.

The interior of the IONIQ 5 N's China edition features a minimalist design, equipped with a dual-screen setup consisting of an LCD instrument cluster and a central control screen. It also includes a multifunctional steering wheel with a mode switch knob and integrated sport seats to create a strong driving atmosphere. The car retains physical buttons on the central console and offers various comfort features such as multi-color ambient lighting.

The IONIQ 5 N's China edition is powered by a dual-motor system, delivering a maximum output of 448 kW and a peak torque of 740 N·m. Notably, it features an e-N driving mode (NGB, N Grin Boost) that boosts maximum output to 478 kW and peak torque to 770 N·m, achieving 0-100 km/h acceleration in just 3.4 seconds. In the e-N driving mode, maximum output can be used for 10 seconds with a 10-second interval before it can be used again.

The IONIQ 5 N's China edition supports both 400V and 800V fast charging systems, compatible with various charging infrastructures. Under optimal conditions, it can be charged from 10% to 80% SOC (State of Charge) of its battery capacity in just 18 minutes at a charging power of 350 kW, and from 30% to 80% SOC in only 15 minutes.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
