Beijing (Gasgoo)- On June 15, ARCFOX, BAIC Group's premium electric vehicle brand, officially put the α S5 onto the market. The new model comes with three variants, namely, the 560 MAX, 708 MAX, and 650 ULTRA, priced at 176,800 yuan, 196,800 yuan, and 216,800 yuan, respectively.
The official prices have been further reduced by 3,000 yuan compared to the pre-sale guidance, and a new standard range version, the 560 MAX, has been introduced. Additionally, ARCFOX announced a limited-time offer valid until July 31, 2024, providing a 25,000-yuan cash discount, reducing the starting prices to 151,800 yuan, 171,800 yuan, and 191,800 yuan, respectively.
The α S5 features a "wind-sculpted aesthetic" design language, characterized by fluid and dynamic body lines. The vehicle is equipped with nearly 400 LED light sources forming the wind blade headlights and intelligent interactive lighting, enhancing its fluid technology aesthetics. The sleek coupe design not only boosts its dynamic appeal but also achieves an ultra-low drag coefficient of 0.1925 Cd. The rear of the car includes multi-dimensional ultra-red light technology taillights, improving safety by 40%, along with a luminous small fox logo, adding to its distinctiveness. The intelligent active rear spoiler, with a deployed area of 3,430 cm², enhances vehicle handling and adds a striking visual element.
As a high-performance pure electric sedan, the α S5's all-wheel-drive high-performance version features a synchronous and asynchronous dual-motor setup, delivering a total power output of 390 kW and a total torque of 690 N·m, achieving 0-100 km/h acceleration in just 3.7 seconds. Supported by ARCFOX's Jifeng powertrain, it can sustain power output with no degradation over 46 consecutive cycles. The α S5, built on the agile Lingyun chassis platform co-developed with Magna and finely tuned by professional engineers over a long period, offers stable and comfortable driving even on rough roads.In terms of interior space, the α S5 is designed for comfort and practicality. Measuring 4,820mm in length, 1,930mm in width, and 1,480mm in height, with a 2,900mm wheelbase. The α S5 boasts 24 storage spaces throughout the cabin and a trunk volume of 430L.
Powered by ARCFOX's Lingzhi OS, the α S5's smart cabin transforms into four versatile spaces. The car is equipped with a 68-inch large AR-HUD with movie-watching functionality, capable of linking the car screen, seats, ambient lighting, and external headlights for an immersive viewing experience. The model also comes with a high-end Karaoke song library and ARCFOX-exclusive microphones, allowing for a unique live house experience with synchronized ambient lighting.
For gaming enthusiasts, the α S5 integrates the Migu game platform into the car system, offering over 500 games that can be played instantly without downloads. Customized 4D-sensation games like "Asphalt 9" provide an immersive racing experience, with synchronized ambient lighting and air conditioning effects, enhancing the gaming experience.
