【Macquarie Group of Australia: Global copper supply gap may expand to 1.6 million tons by 2030】 According to foreign media reports, Macquarie Group, an Australian bank, predicts that by 2030, the global copper supply and demand gap will expand to 1.6 million tons. In contrast, this year's copper supply gap is approximately 86,000 tons. Macquarie analysts said that due to tight concentrate supplies, copper smelters are processing more scrap copper and crude copper. Taking into account spot collection and processing costs, scrap copper supply based on copper content can fluctuate by up to 1 million tons per year during periods of significant copper price volatility, effectively rebalancing the market during periods of high or low prices.
