Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On June 3, Autoliv China and XPENG AEROHT signed a strategic cooperation agreement in Guangzhou. Driven by their shared commitment to future mobility safety, the duo will collaborate on various initiatives aimed at advancing the development of flying car technology, jointly developing safety solutions for future mobility.

XPENG AEROHT, a subsidiary of XPENG, specializes in the development of intelligent electric flying cars. Its product line currently includes several innovative flying cars. One example is the "XPENG X2," which has a maximum takeoff weight of 560kg and an empty weight of only 360kg. The company said it has a flight endurance of 35 minutes and a top speed of 130km/h. The flying car model features autonomous flight path planning capabilities, ground monitoring through multiple sensors, full-environment perception, self-return landing, and two-way real-time communication over a hundred kilometers. In March this year, the XPENG X2 successfully completed its maiden flight over Guangzhou's CBD and obtained a special flight permit.

Additionally, during last year's 1024 TECH DAY, XPENG showcased a land-air split-type flying car named "Land Aircraft Carrier." This vehicle consists of two parts: a ground module and a flight module. The ground module can completely house the flight module for ground travel and can autonomously separate from and combine with the overall machine like a "Transformer." The Land Aircraft Carrier is expected to open for pre-orders in the fourth quarter of this year, with mass production and delivery planned for the fourth quarter of next year.

"Autoliv continues to explore new innovative safety solutions to meet future mobility needs," said Mikael Bratt, CEO of Autoliv. By combining XPENG AEROHT's flying car expertise with Autoliv's expertise in safety solutions, both companies are poised to play a crucial role in the flying car industry, shaping a safer and more convenient future for mobility.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
