IDC predicts that global shipments of smartphones will increase by 4.0% to 1.21 billion units in 2024."

According to the International Data Corporation (IDC), global smartphone shipments are estimated to increase by 4.0% to 1.21 billion units in 2024, with further growth of 2.3% predicted for 2025. From 2026 to 2028, the annual growth rate is expected to be in the low single digits, with an average compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 2.3% for the period from 2024 to 2028. Nabila Popal, research director of IDC's Global Mobile Phone Tracker team, stated that the majority of the growth this year will come from the Android platform, which is estimated to grow by 4.8%, far outpacing iOS at 0.7%.
