Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On May 29th, XPENG AEROHT, an affiliate of XPENG, released a video showcasing the highlights of its land-air integrated flying car, designed for future multi-layered transportation.

The company introduced that, this flying car features a supercar design and a dual-mode cabin for both driving and flying. It can switch between ground and air driving modes.

The vehicle's flight wings are installed on the roof, and when switching to ground mode, the flight system can be retracted into the car, making it look like a regular car from the outside.

XPENG AEROHT is an aviation technology company under XPENG, focusing on developing intelligent electric flying cars.

Currently, XPENG AEROHT's product line includes several innovative flying cars. For instance, the "XPENG X2" has a maximum takeoff weight of 560 kg and an empty weight of only 360 kg. It boasts a flight endurance of 35 minutes and a maximum flight speed of 130 km/h.

The XPENG X2 also features autonomous flight path planning capabilities, utilizing multiple sensors for ground monitoring, 360-degree environment awareness, autonomous return and landing, and two-way real-time communication over 100 km. In March of this year, XPENG AEROHT's "XPENG X2" successfully completed its first flight over Guangzhou's CBD and obtained a special flight permit.

Additionally, during last year's 1024 TECH DAY, XPENG showcased a land-air split-type flying car named "Land Aircraft Carrier." This vehicle consists of two parts: a ground module and a flight module. The ground module can completely house the flight module for ground travel and can autonomously separate from and combine with the overall machine like a "Transformer." The Land Aircraft Carrier is expected to open for pre-orders in the fourth quarter of this year, with mass production and delivery planned for the fourth quarter of next year.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
