Beijing (Gasgoo)- On May 24, Dongfeng Motor's AEOLUS brand officially launched and delivered its first model equipped with the Mach PHREV technology, the AEOLUS L7 SUV.

Previously showcased at the Auto China 2024 in Beijing, the AEOLUS L7 is available in five variants, priced between 128,900 yuan and 156,900 yuan. During the delivery ceremony, a limited-time promotional price was announced, ranging from 124,900 yuan to 156,900 yuan.

The L7 measures 4,685mm in length, 1,905mm in width, and 1,625mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,775mm. It features the WindLink OS 3.0 intelligent cockpit, equipped with a Qualcomm 8155 chip, a 14.6-inch LCD touchscreen, and a 10.25-inch digital instrument display. Additional features include one-touch reservation and L2 intelligent driving assistance.

This model marks the debut of Dongfeng's Mach PHREV technology. The 1.5T hybrid engine achieves a thermal efficiency of 45.18%, with a combined system output of 265kW and peak torque of 615N·m. Dongfeng has further developed hybrid engines with a thermal efficiency of 47% and aims to reach 48% by 2025, with ongoing research targeting 50% efficiency.

The AEOLUS L7's powertrain includes a 4-speed intelligent hybrid electric drive with seven energy management modes and 26 operational modes, achieving a system efficiency of 93% and a high-efficiency utilization rate of 95%. This setup offers four fixed gears and two power split gears, balancing low-speed fuel consumption, smooth driving, and high-speed efficiency with excellent power performance. Additionally, the i-Control intelligent electronic control system with AI-predictive energy management optimizes the driving mode based on road conditions.

For range, the AEOLUS L7 is equipped with a 30.2-kWh battery, providing a battery-powered range of 205 km and a fuel consumption of 3.8L/100 km (NEDC) when the battery is depleted. With a full tank and a full charge, the vehicle can achieve a total range of 1,500 km. The vehicle supports 45 kW fast charging, allowing the battery to charge from 30% to 80% State of charge (SoC) in just 26 minutes.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
