[POWERCHINA Wins Bid for the Largest Grid-Connected Hybrid Energy Storage Project in China] According to the news on May 26th, recently, Hydropower Bureau No. 4 affiliated with POWERCHINA has won the bid for the largest grid-connected (independent) hybrid energy storage project in China - the Xinhua Wushi 500,000 kW/2,000,000 kWh grid-connected energy storage project. The project is located in the Aheiya Photovoltaic Industrial Park, Wushi County, Aksu City, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, covering an area of about 456.84 mu. The total installed capacity of the project is 500,000 kW/2,000,000 kWh, including 250,000 kW/1,000,000 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery energy storage and 250,000 kW/1,000,000 kWh all-vanadium redox flow battery energy storage. The energy storage duration is 4 hours, and the whole station can store 2,000,000 kWh of electricity after one charge, which can meet the daily electricity demand of about 300,000 households.
