Lithium ore
In the week of May 20-23, lepidolite prices fell slightly. Some lithium salt plants in Jiangxi have not shipped due to cost considerations and a pessimistic sentiment about the future price of lithium carbonate, leading to a reduced demand for lepidolite. Other lithium salt plants, unable to use spodumene as a raw material due to equipment issues, have increased their purchases of lepidolite. It is expected that lepidolite prices will experience slight fluctuations in the short term, following market trends.
In the week of May 20-23, spodumene prices showed a slight downward trend due to fluctuations in lithium carbonate prices. Some leading lithium salt plants have sufficient stockpiles from earlier periods and currently have no restocking needs, while others are restocking as needed to fulfill long-term contracts. Based on recent shipping conditions at Australian and African ports, together with the production schedules of domestic lithium mines and lithium salt plants, it is expected that the lithium market will remain strong on both the supply and demand sides. In the short term, spodumene prices are expected to continue fluctuating with market trends.
