Beijing (Gasgoo)- On May 22, JAC Group's new energy vehicle brand Yiwei held a ceremony at its smart factory to mark the export of the first batch of 300 Yiwei 3 (EV3) vehicles to the UAE. This event also signifies Yiwei's official entry into the UAE market.

The EV 3 is built on the second-generation DI platform, and is equipped with the world's first 9-in-1 electric drive system and a zero-heat-diffusion honeycomb battery, forming an exceptionally powerful powertrain. Currently, the EV 3 offers two versions with a respective range of 405 km and 505 km, and comes in six different variants.

With over 80 practical features, the EV3 features a competitive price starting at 89,900 yuan in China.

The entry of the EV3 into the UAE market is a result of JAC Group’s sustained efforts in the region. Last year, JAC Group exported nearly 10,000 vehicles to the UAE, with over 7,000 units sold via retail, reflecting a year-on-year soar of 307.69%.

Aside from the UAE, on February 21, Yiwei also saw the first batch of 10,000 electric vehicles, including 5,000 units of the EV3 set sail to destinations in the Gulf region, as well as Central and South America.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
