Kobe Steel announced that from the fiscal year 2024, the company will use green aluminum materials in aluminum extruded and suspension products delivered to Nissan Motor. These products will be mainly used for mass-produced cars of Nissan in Japan and North America markets, and it plans to extend them to mass-produced vehicles in the European market.

In addition to the aluminum plate products that have been delivered to Nissan (according to reports at the end of 2022, Nissan plans to use low-carbon steel and green aluminum provided by Kobe Steel in its models), green aluminum materials will also be used in aluminum bumper reinforcement and suspension components, etc. It is understood that about 10% of the weight of Nissan's cars comes from aluminum components.
