Beijing (Gasgoo)- On May 21, China FAW Group and smart speech solution provider iFLYTEK signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement.

iFLYTEK’s inhouse-developed Spark large model will provide FAW Group with cutting-edge, secure AI services, supporting the automaker's market position advancement and leading the development of intelligent connected vehicles in China. This partnership aims to elevate FAW's products globally, showcasing China's advanced manufacturing capabilities to the world.

Under the agreement, FAW Group and iFLYTEK will leverage their respective technological strengths and industry experience. Their collaboration will focus on key areas such as infrastructure represented by intelligent computing centers, algorithms and tools, intelligent platforms (including large models, big data, and knowledge bases), and intelligent solutions for enterprise and automotive applications.

During the recently concluded Auto China 2024 in Beijing, FAW’s Hongqi brand showcased 22 models across its three sub-brands. As part of its “All in New Energy” strategy, Hongqi introduced several new energy vehicles (NEVs) based on the “Hongqi Tiangong” pure electric platform and the “Hongqi Jiuzhang” intelligent platform. These included the Hongqi EHS7, EH7, E009, E007, and E702, demonstrating significant advancements in driving control and intelligent technology.

Among the highlights was the debut of the Hongqi EHS7, a mid-to-large SUV with innovative features. The EHS7 is the first to integrate iFLYTEK’s Spark large model, which boasts 130 billion cloud parameters and a response time of under 900 milliseconds, effectively serving as an on-the-go encyclopedia for users.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
