SHANGHAI, May 20 (SMM) -

Industrial silicon metal

Price

Last Friday, the SMM price of above-standard #553 silicon in east China was between 13,100 and 13,300 yuan/ton. Last week, the quotations of some silicon companies were lowered by about 100 to 200 yuan/ton. The bearish sentiment in the market prevailed, and downstream users maintained on-demand procurement.

Production

According to SMM statistics, China's industrial silicon production in April 2024 was 358,700 tons, a month-on-month decrease of 8,000 tons, a decrease of 2.1%, and a year-on-year increase of 23.2%. Production in May is expected to increase to more than 370,000 tons.

Inventory

Social inventory: According to SMM statistics, the national social inventory of industrial silicon totaled 379,000 tons on May 17, an increase of 9,000 tons from last week. The inventory of general public warehouses was 106,000 tons, a decrease of 1,000 tons from a week earlier, and the inventory of public delivery warehouses is 273,000 tons (including the part that has not been registered as warehouse receipts), an increase of 10,000 tons.

Polysilicon

Price

The mainstream prices of N-type polysilicon and dense polysilicon were 41-45 yuan/kg and 37-42 yuan/kg respectively yesterday.

Production

The number of manufacturers undertaking maintenance continues to increase over time. The expected domestic polysilicon production schedule in May fell below 180,000 tons.

Inventory

Downstream purchasing enthusiasm is limited, the orders are generally scarce, and inventory remains high.

Module

Price

Last week, the mainstream transaction price of bifacial-182mm monocrystalline PERC modules was 0.78-0.86 yuan/w, and the mainstream transaction price of bifacial-210mm monocrystalline PERC modules was 0.8-0.89 yuan/w. The mainstream transaction price of N-type 182mm modules is 0.81-0.9 yuan/W, and the mainstream transaction price of N-type 210mm modules is 0.85-0.92 yuan/W. Due to the decline in raw material prices and demand adjustments, module prices are still on a downward trend.

Production

The production schedule of modules in May was largely stable with slight fluctuations, and the expected output was basically the same as the previous month, mainly supported by domestic centralized procurement demand.

Inventory

At present, the overall module inventory is under control. As domestic projects are gradually being delivered, demand is gradually improving, and modules are beginning to be destocked slightly.

High-purity quartz sand

Price

Recently, the price of high-purity quartz sand middle layer sand was stable. The current domestic price of inner layer sand is 170,000-210,000 yuan/ton, the price of middle layer sand is 100,000-130,000 yuan/ton, and the price of outer layer sand is 24,000-50,000 yuan/ton.

Production

On the supply side, supply at home and abroad has remained stable recently, with no new production capacity being put into operation and existing production lines operating normally.

Inventory

The current inventory of high-purity quartz sand is basically the same as last week, the market transaction heat has slightly weakened, and downstream companies are mainly purchasing on demand.

PV glass

Price

3.2mm single-layer coated glass: The price of 3.2mm single-layer coated photovoltaic glass is 26.5-27.5 yuan/square meter, and the price remains stable.

3.2mm double-layer coated glass: 3.2mm single-layer coated photovoltaic glass is quoted at 27.5-28.5 yuan/square meter, and the price remains stable.

2.0mm single-layer coated glass: The price of 2.0mm single-layer coated photovoltaic glass is 17.5-18.5 yuan/square meter, and the price remains stable.

2.0mm double-layer coated glass: 2.0mm double-layer coated photovoltaic glass is quoted at 18.5-19.5 yuan/square meter, and the price remains stable.

Production

In May, the number of domestic photovoltaic glass production lines continued to increase. Currently, a new 1,000-ton/day kiln was added in Hebei Province and a new 1,200-ton/day kiln was added in Yunnan Province.

Inventory

In terms of inventory, there was a slight accumulation of inventory at the end of May, and the purchasing mentality of module companies was cold.

Recently, the 850 MW Phase I of the Luobusha PV project in Qusum County, Tibet, constructed by PowerChina, successfully passed completion acceptance, providing important support for easing regional power supply-demand tensions and strengthening the plateau energy supply barrier. The Luobusha PV project in Qusum County, Tibet, covers an area of approximately 4,289.59 mu, with a total installed capacity of 850 MW. It is the first batch of key commercial PV projects at the Yazhong Clean Energy Base in Tibet and the largest PV clean power generation project in the middle and lower reaches of the Yajiang River. The project is developed in four phases, with Phase I at 200 MW and an average elevation of 4,700 meters. Chengdu Engineering Corporation under PowerChina undertook the construction of the 220 kV booster station, 50 MW PV area, 20.74 km transmission line, and expansion of the opposite-side substation; Sinohydro Bureau 9 undertook the construction of the 150 MW PV field area, installing a total of 348,000 PV modules, along with 64 box-type transformers and 704 inverters.
