Beijing (Gasgoo)- On May 20, 2024, in Shanghai, SAIC Motor and Audi officially signed a cooperation agreement to jointly develop the Advanced Digitized Platform, following a memorandum of understanding signed in July 2023.

This partnership aims to create a new generation of luxury intelligent electric vehicles, marking a fresh chapter in Audi's high-end electric mobility development.

SAIC Motor, with its extensive experience in automotive technology R&D, collaborates with leading tech companies to promote an intelligent automotive ecosystem. The launch of the Advanced Digitized Platform aligns with Audi's brand spirit, "Vorsprung durch Technik" (Progress through Technology).

The new collaboration model integrates both companies' strengths, enhancing R&D efficiency, optimizing processes, and accelerating the development timeline by over 30%. The vehicles developed under this platform will cover the B and C segments, with the first model expected to hit the market in 2025, offering Chinese consumers a new level of luxury intelligent electric vehicles from Audi.

SAIC Motor’s automotive intelligence arm SAIC Z-One will provide cutting-edge intelligent technology for the project. According to SAIC Z-One CEO Li Jun, the new vehicles will feature top-tier software, hardware, and electric performance, along with a more seamless and user-friendly intelligent interaction experience. These "luxury new species," born from the Advanced Digitized Platform, will combine Audi's unique aesthetic design, rigorous craftsmanship, renowned quattro driving pleasure, and SAIC's leading intelligent electric technology, redefining Chinese consumers' expectations of luxury intelligent electric vehicles.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
