Beijing (Gasgoo)- On May 17, AITO, the premium new energy vehicle brand co-developed by Huawei and SERES, announced that the refreshed version of the M7 Max will officially launch on May 31.

Pre-orders for the new model have begun, with a starting price of 298,000 yuan. Customers who pre-order can enjoy a discount, with 1,000 yuan down payments counting as 2,000 yuan towards the purchase price, valid until 8:00 PM on May 31.

The updated M7 Max will feature enhancements in both exterior and interior design, as well as upgrades to its intelligent driving capabilities, driving experience, and comfort configurations.

Externally, the new model adopts a closed-off grille design, giving it a cleaner look more in line with its identity as a new energy vehicle. The official images reveal a new interstellar blue color option and new wheel designs. Notably, the refreshed M7 Max will no longer include LiDAR as a standard feature.

Inside, the changes are minimal based on spy shots. The vehicle is equipped with a 10.25-inch curved full LCD instrument panel and a 15.6-inch 2K HDR central control screen. It also includes the HarmonyOS intelligent cockpit system and an HUD (head-up display). Like the refreshed M5, the new M7 Max will see some upgrades in areas such as seating and audio systems.

As of now, AITO has not released detailed information about the powertrain or range of the refreshed M7 Max. However, it is expected to retain the power system of the current model. The existing M7 is equipped with a 1.5T range extender with a maximum power of 112 kW. The electric drive system offers both single motor rear-wheel drive and dual motor all-wheel drive configurations, with maximum power outputs of 200 kW and 330 kW, respectively. The CLTC-rated battery-powered range varies between 200 km to 240 km depending on the version and configuration.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
