【Lithium battery cycle life and fast charging performance are expected to be significantly improved】 Recently, Professor Marnix Wagemaker's team from Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands, in collaboration with the neutron scattering team from the Institute of Atomic Energy, China National Nuclear Corporation, has published the latest research findings in the field of lithium-ion batteries in the internationally authoritative journal Nature. This achievement is expected to significantly improve the cycle life and fast charging performance of lithium batteries, marking important progress in the full opening of China's Advanced Research Reactor, a major scientific research facility of China National Nuclear Corporation. The research focuses on ordered layered oxides, which are currently one of the most important cathode materials in lithium-ion batteries. During deep charging, this structural framework is susceptible to lattice stress, structural or mechanochemical degradation, causing a sharp drop in battery capacity and thus shortening battery life.
