DEEPAL unveils official images of new compact SUV S05

On May 15, DEEPAL, the new energy vehicle brand under Changan Automobile, released official images of its new model, the S05.

Beijing (Gasgoo)- On May 15, DEEPAL, the new energy vehicle brand under Changan Automobile, released official images of its new model, the S05.

This compact SUV, featuring a market position below the DEEPAL S7, recently completed its regulatory registration with China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT).

According to the released images, the S05 features the brand’s iconic design language, with a closed front grille, pronounced dual waistline design on the sides, hidden door handles, and low-drag wheels. The side profile showcases a prominent dual waistline design, with the upper line extending from the front fender to the taillights, and the lower line rising from the bottom of the front door to the mid-rear door, creating a dynamic, downward-sloping look.

In terms of dimensions, the DEEPAL S05 measures 4,620mm in length, 1,900mm in width, and 1,600mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,880mm.

The rear of the vehicle features a spoiler with an integrated high-mounted brake light, a taillight running across the rear, and a dual-layer rear bumper with a contrasting color scheme, enhancing its three-dimensional appearance.

Powering the S05 is a single electric motor with a maximum power output of 175 kW, supported by a lithium iron phosphate battery pack. There may also be a range-extended version available in the future.

Regarding pricing, the current DEEPAL S7 is priced between 149,900 yuan and 217,900 yuan. The more affordable S05 is expected to start at around 120,000 yuan, making it an attractive option in the compact SUV segment.
