Beijing (Gasgoo)- After announcing its plan to team up with Huawei, VOYAH, Dongfeng Motor's premium new energy vehicle brand, saw its new mid-sized battery-electric SUV included in a catalogue released by China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.

Judging from the photo released by the MIIT, this new model bears the Zhiyin (in Chinese characters, 知音) emblem at the rear, which indicates its name. Moreover, according to the plans previous disclosed by VOYAH and Huawei, the Zhiyin may be their collaborative model and will be equipped with Huawei's latest automotive solution.

Measuring 4,725mm long, 1,900mm wide, 1,636mm (1,653mm) tall, with a 2,900mm wheelbase, the Zhiyin is slightly smaller than the existing VOYAH FREE SUV.

In terms of design, the Zhiyin continues the family design language of the VOYAH brand. Notable exterior features include a two-tone roof for a stylish, sporty appearance, along with standard panoramic sunroof and roof racks. Additionally, customers can opt for a black decorative panel on the engine hood and choose between sporty five-spoke wheels or enclosed petal-style rims.

Huawei and VOYAH had previously disclosed to the public that their new battery-electric SUV will be installed with cutting-edge electrification technologies, smart cockpit solutions, and intelligent driving systems, all co-developed by Huawei and VOYAH.

Power-wise, the Zhiyin will utilize a new 800V SiC high-voltage platform, offering three powertrain options. The two single-motor rear-wheel-drive models will output either 215kW or 230kW of maximum power, both equipped with lithium iron phosphate battery packs. The dual-motor all-wheel-drive model will also feature lithium iron phosphate batteries, with a combined power output of 160kW + 160kW.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
