Baojun releases official images of new intelligent SUV ‘Yun Hai’

​On May 13, SAIC-GM-Wuling (SGMW)'s Baojun brand unveiled the official images of its latest intelligent SUV, dubbed Baojun Yunhai (“云海” in Chinese).

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On May 13, SAIC-GM-Wuling ("SGMW")'s Baojun brand unveiled the official images of its latest intelligent SUV, dubbed "Baojun Yunhai" ("云海" in Chinese, translating to "cloud sea"). This vehicle, built on the Tianyu architecture D platform, introduces the next generation of Lingmou intelligent driving technology (a Bird’s-Eye-View architecture developed by YIHANG. AI), marking Baojun's first long-range intelligent SUV.

The design ethos of the Baojun Yunhai emphasizes the sense of technology and simplicity, with a CLTC range of 600km. In terms of dimensions, Baojun Yunhai measures 4,541mm in length, 1,880mm in width and 1,608mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,750mm.

Scheduled for release in the third quarter of this year, as per China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology(MIIT), this new model offers consumers the choice between a battery electric vehicle(BEV) edition and a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle(PHEV) edition.

Under the hood, the Baojun Yunhai PHEV edition incorporates a plug-in hybrid system comprising a 1.5L engine and electric motor, with the engine delivering a maximum power output of 78kW. Meanwhile, the BEV edition comes equipped with a 150kW electric motor, capable of propelling the vehicle to a top speed of 170km/h.
