Cobalt Salt Prices Decline Amid Weak Supply and Demand, Market Expects Further Drops

Publicado: May 10, 2024 20:03
[SMM Weekly Review: Cobalt Salt Prices Fell Slightly This Week] Cobalt salt prices continued to decline this week. From the perspective of supply, due to weak demand and the impact of cost inversion, market supply has declined. From the perspective of downstream demand, the number of scattered purchases of precursor end is relatively limited; the demand for lithium cobaltate has also declined in the four-cobalt aspect, weakening the willingness to stock up on raw materials. Looking at the overall market situation, due to sufficient supply of raw materials, the market has a bearish expectation for cobalt prices, so actual purchases are relatively limited. Taken together, although the current market is in a situation of weak supply and demand, due to a certain inventory in each link, some enterprises have the phenomenon of over-sold to promote transactions, which has pulled down spot prices. It is expected that in the future, downstream demand will further decline, and under the weak market expectations, prices may still have the possibility of further decline.
