Changan Automobile sees 15.47% YoY rise in Apr. sales

On May 7, Chinese automaker Chongqing Changan Automobile Co., Ltd. (Changan Automobile) announced that its monthly sales volume reached 210,133 vehicles in April, which jumped 15.47% year over year.

Beijing (Gasgoo)- On May 7, Chinese automaker Chongqing Changan Automobile Co., Ltd. (Changan Automobile) announced that its monthly sales volume reached 210,133 vehicles in April, which jumped 15.47% year over year.

Among the vehicles sold last month, 51,682 units were new energy vehicles under Changan Automobile’s wholly-owned brands, shooting up 129.74% from a year ago. DEEPAL, the company’s new energy vehicle brand, delivered 12,744 vehicles in the past month. Meanwhile, AVATR, the premium new energy vehicle brand jointly supported by Changan Automobile, Huawei, and CATL, delivered 5,247 vehicles, representing a 225% soar year-on-year. Changan NEVO, the automaker’s young new energy vehicle brand, delivered 11,833 vehicles in the past month, adding up to a cumulative volume of over 88,000 vehicles since the brand’s establishment.

In the first four months of this year,‌‌‌‌⁠‌‌‌‌‌⁠‌‌‌‌⁠‌‌‌⁠‌‌‌‌‌⁠‌‌‌⁠‌‌‌‌‌‌⁠‌‌‌‌⁠‌‌‌⁠‌‌‌‌‌⁠‌‌‌⁠‌‌‌‌‌‌⁠‌‌⁠‌‌‌‌⁠‌‌‌‌⁠‌‌‌‌⁠‌‌‌⁠‌‌‌‌⁠‌‌‌‌‌⁠‌‌‌‌⁠‌‌‌‌‌⁠‌‌‌‌⁠‌‌‌‌⁠‌‌‌‌⁠‌‌‌‌‌⁠‌‌‌‌‌⁠‌‌‌‌‌⁠‌‌‌‌‌⁠‌‌‌‌‌⁠‌‌‌⁠‌‌‌⁠‌‌‌‌⁠‌‌‌⁠‌‌‌‌⁠‌‌‌‌‌‌⁠‌‌‌‌⁠‌‌‌⁠‌‌‌⁠‌‌‌‌‌⁠‌‌‌‌⁠‌‌‌‌⁠‌‌‌‌⁠‌ Changan Automobile sold a total of 902,246 vehicles, which rose 14.24% from a year ago. Year-to-date sales of the automaker’s wholly-owned brands stood at 761,453 vehicles, climbing up 13.32% over the previous year. Among which, 140,600 vehicles were sold in overseas markets, surging 82.78% from a year ago.

In addition, Changan Automobile’s joint ventures, Changan Ford sold 18,612 vehicles in the past month, indicating a 32.92% jump year-over-year. Meanwhile, Changan Mazda saw its monthly sales zoom up 52.96% from that of the previous year to 6,051 units in April.
