Beijing (Gasgoo)- Autonomous driving solution developer iMotion was recently nominated as the supplier of Chery OMODA brand's autonomous driving solution, the company announced on May 6.

Under the agreement, iMotion will provide Chery with an integrated hardware and software autonomous driving solution, with the iDC Mid autonomous driving domain controller at its core.

The name of Chery's OMODA range was selected from over 10,000 naming proposals from more than 30 countries worldwide. Its English name, derived from Latin roots, signifies innovation ("O") and fashion trend ("MODA"), reflecting the global younger generation's understanding and pursuit of fashion trends.

iDC Mid is iMotion's cost-effective solution for the mid-to-high-end auto market, featuring the TDA4SoC from Texas Instrument and integrating highway NOA (navigate on autopilot), Memory Parking Assist (HPA), Surround View 3D Display (SV3D), HMI rendering, and OTA functionality. It is compatible with domestically-produced chips, supports cross-platform operating systems and environments, provides an open development environment, and supports cloud and big data closed-loop development.

All key hardware and software components of iDC Mid are designed and developed by iMotion. The proprietary middleware, independent of any open-source framework, can deploy software to different computing platforms and operating systems. In the iDC domain controller, the middleware enables zero-copy data sharing across RTOS (including inter-core communication) and HLOS (such as LINUX, including inter-process communication), supporting large data transmission such as images.

iMotion's algorithms cover perception fusion, planning, control, and positioning. Perception algorithms include multimodal data fusion algorithms, transformer-based BEV perception algorithms, and USS (ultrasonic) perception algorithms.

Data Source Statement: Except for publicly available information, all other data are processed by SMM based on publicly available information, market communication, and relying on SMM‘s internal database model. They are for reference only and do not constitute decision-making recommendations.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
