SMM electric arc furnace operating rate: Pre-holiday stocking drove shipments, but electric arc furnace steel mills struggled to make profits

According to SMM research, as of April 30, the operating rates of 50 electric arc furnace steel mills across the country who mainly produce rebar was 35.38%, down 1.88 percentage points from a week ago. Their average capacity utilisation rate was 36.35%, down 0.97 percentage points WoW. Their daily average rebar output was 80,900 mt, down 2,200 mt WoW.
