According to customs data, China imported 505,100 mt of plates/sheets in March 2024, up 11.16% MoM, but down 14.71% YoY.

According to customs data, China imported 505,100 mt of plates/sheets in March 2024, up 11.16% MoM, but down 14.71% YoY. Imports totalled 1.4675 million mt in January-March 2024, down 9.69% YoY.

In March, China exported a total of 6.8538 million mt of plates/sheets, up 33.87% MoM and 29.85% YoY; from January to March 2024, China exported a total of 17.9378 million mt of steel, up 40.04% YoY. Exports of HRC, CRC, medium-thickness plate, coated plate and strip and electric steel plates (strips) all showed substantial year-on-year growth.
