Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On April 29, REPT BATTERO Energy Co., Ltd. ("REPT"), a Chinese power battery supplier, inked a framework agreement with Powin LLC ("Powin"), a global energy storage platform provider, as the former intends to supply the latter with 12GWh Wending 320Ah energy storage cells.

REPT was founded in 2017 as Tsingshan Industry's inaugural venture into the new energy sector. It specializes in the R&D, production, and sales of lithium-ion batteries for power and energy storage systems, with LFP, NCM batteries as its main products. These batteries have been appiled in passenger cars, commercial vehicles, engineering machinery, and energy storage solutions. By 2022, REPT had established itself as a global energy storage battery company by shipment volume.

As an international energy platform provider, Powin provides comprehensive battery storage solutions, software, and services designed to enhance grid efficiency and facilitate the shift towards more sustainable energy sources. Currently, it has 6,000 MWh of energy storage systems that have been installed or are under construction, with an additional 11,000 MWh contracted for deployment globally.

REPT said the Wending 320Ah battery achieves a larger capacity than batteries of the same dimensions. With scale application, it can reduce land usage by 15% and increase net profit by over 10%. This achieves cost reduction, efficiency enhancement, emission reduction, and provides customers with efficient, affordable, and sustainable green energy storage solutions.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
