Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Autoliv China recently announced via its official WeChat account that on April 26, the company signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement and a joint R&D agreement with Shenzhen Hangsheng Electronics Co., Ltd. ("HSAE").The collaboration is set to focus on areas such as automotive electronic control unit (ECU). The two parties aim to concentrate on future autonomous driving technology, jointly innovate in  integrated and electronic security solutions, and enhance the application of automotive electronics across various scenarios.

Autoliv China is a subsidiary of the global automotive safety supplier, Autoliv, Inc. The company is engaged in the design, development and manufacture of passive safety systems for the automotive industry, as well as mobility safety solutions.

HSAE, founded in 1993, is a Chinese enterprise specializing in developing, manufacturing and selling automotive electronic products, with main products including automotive infotainment system, navigation system, Body ECU, intelligent traffic & anti-theft system.

In the era of rapid advancements in autonomous driving technology, the development of integrated solutions for in-cabin systems has become increasingly critical. Autoliv and HSAE are poised to engage in close collaboration, particularly focusing on developing automotive electronic control unit (ECU) products. This strategic collaboration aims to fortify their positions in the competitive automotive market.

One of the pivotal aspects of this cooperation lies on the R&D of foldable steering wheel technology. This innovation enables the steering wheel to fold up in diverse in-cabin scenarios, thereby liberating additional space for passengers. This enhancement optimizes the interior space layout, enhances the driving experience for passengers, and ensures high-quality safety performance of vehicles.
