Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On April 25, the inaugural day of the Auto China 2024, Beijing Hyundai signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Ltd. ("CATL") to cooperate on the former's EV project, jointly developing all-electric vehicle models that cater to consumers' demands in China.

At the press conference, Hyundai Motor unveiled its strategy "in China, for Global". It will introduce its first high-performance electric vehicle, the IONIQ 5 N, to China, officially entering the high-performance electric vehicle market of the country.

The collaboration between Beijing Hyundai and CATL represents a significant step in implementing the "in China, for Global" strategy.

With over 21 years of development experience in China, Beijing Hyundai has sold over 12 million vehicles in the world's largest auto market, showcasing mature and reliable manufacturing capabilities. This plan will continuously drive product transformation, brand innovation, and service innovation. In the future, Beijing Hyundai will establish a new product lineup, including pure electric and hybrid electric models, and achieve intelligence across its entire product range.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
