The 2024 Beijing International Automotive Exhibition (Auto China 2024) officially opened its doors on April 25. Themed "Driving to Smart Mobility" this year, the 10-day auto show features 117 vehicles making their global debut, including 30 from global corporations, 41 concept cars, and a remarkable total of 278 new energy vehicles (NEVs).

Undoubtedly, this year's Auto China is a spectacular feast of vision and technology. From the first day, major car brands pulled back the curtain on their highly anticipated new models, offering an overwhelming array of choices. At this grand event, Gasgoo has meticulously selected some of the most exciting and noteworthy NEV models displayed by Chinese automakers. These vehicles stand out not only for their innovative design but also for embodying the latest advancements in automotive technologies.

STELATO S9

At the Auto China 2024, Huawei, in partnership with BAIC BluePark, unveiled the STELATO S9, a new model developed under HIMA (Harmony lntelligent Mobility Alliance), an automotive alliance initiated by Huawei.

As the first executive luxury flagship sedan under HIMA, the STELATO S9 is expected to retail for around 500,000 yuan.

The model's exterior introduces flatter, more streamlined lines to present a new form of sedan aesthetics. The front end retains the signature integrated design characteristic of HIMA's models. The innovative "Galaxy" headlights, inspired by constellations, light up to display a dazzling starry effect, enhancing the car's luxurious and stable presence.

On the sides, the STELATO S9 features a hidden water-cut design for the first time, resulting in a more elegant and sophisticated profile. Additionally, the design of the STELATO S9 prioritizes functionality, with body contours that optimize airflow and greatly reduce aerodynamic drag for enhanced performance.

Moreover, the STELATO S9 offers more premium features than ever before, including being the HIMA's first flagship sedan to be equipped with streaming media rearview mirrors.

ZEEKR MIX

As the fifth model from Geely's ZEEKR brand, the ZEEKR MIX retains the classic elements of ZEEKR's iconic design but stands out with its unique MPV-like body shape, affectionately nicknamed the "Baby Bus" by netizens. The design is inspired by the "Tiangong Space Station," the carmaker revealed.

The ZEEKR MIX offers a spacious cabin area of 6.3 square meters and is the world's first mass-produced vehicle featuring both driver and passenger seats that can electrically rotate. The front seats can rotate up to 270 degrees—the greatest rotation angle available globally—and feature constant electric adjustments. Additionally, with a nearly 2-meter-long sliding rail shared between the front and back rows, the front seats have a travel distance of 800mm, while the back seats can slide up to 490mm.

Notably, the ZEEKR MIX is also the first family travel product built on the SEA-M architecture.

New AVATR 11

At the Auto China 2024, the new AVATR 11 was officially unveiled and hit the market.

This new model is available in four trim levels, with prices ranging from 300,800 yuan to 390,800 yuan.

The new AVATR 11 continues with the design of the existing model, characterized by its avant-garde and stylish appearance. It boasts high recognition from its distinctively designed front, sides, and rear. A new exterior color, "Shimmering Gold," has also been introduced.

Inside, the new AVATR 11 maintains the classic design elements of the existing models with a minimalist design philosophy. The interior features a triple-screen setup, consisting of a 15.6-inch central control screen, a 10.25-inch driver entertainment screen, and a 10.25-inch full LCD dashboard, enhancing the cabin's technological ambiance.

Furthermore, the new AVATR 11 is equipped with Huawei's ADS 2.0 advanced intelligent driving system, which includes an array of 34 sensors that contain three LiDAR units. The vehicle also boasts cutting-edge technological features such as Huawei's HarmonyOS smart cockpit, Huawei DriveONE high-performance motor, and an 800V high-voltage electrical platform. These features allow the car to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in just 3.98 seconds and achieve a CLTC range of up to 730 km.

DEEPAL G318

At this year's Auto China, the three production model under Changan Auto’s DEEPAL, the DEEPAL G318, made its debut. Pre-orders will begin in late May, with deliveries starting in June.

The DEEPAL G318 is a mid-to-large-sized extended-range rugged off-road vehicle. It will be the first model to feature DEEPAL's Super Extended Range 2.0 technology. This vehicle offers a range of 190 km on battery power alone and a combined range of over 1,000 km under CLTC conditions. It boasts an energy generation of 3.63 kWh per liter of fuel, with an impressively low fuel consumption of only 6.7 L/100 km.

The single-motor version delivers a maximum power of 110 kW, while the dual-motor all-wheel drive variant features a front motor with a top power of 131 kW and a rear motor with 185 kW, culminating in a combined system power of 316 kW and a peak torque of 6,200 Nm. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.3 seconds.

For safety, the DEEPAL G318 employs the “Golden Shield” battery, managed by the iBC digital battery manager. This system is equipped with two sets of digital pre-control management technologies and seven sets of digital temperature control technologies, enabling round-the-clock comprehensive monitoring of the battery.

Geely Galaxy Starship prototype

At the ongoing Auto China, Geely Auto unveiled its new technology flagship SUV prototype, the "Galaxy Starship."

Riding on the GEA global intelligent new energy architecture, the Galaxy Starship represents Geely's first full-sized SUV prototype. The design adopts an original concept called "Ripple of Light," featuring a closed-off front face that incorporates a dot matrix light pattern similar to that found on the Geely Galaxy E8 model. The vehicle's side profile is characterized by smooth lines, and it features hidden touch-sensitive door handles with swipe doors at the front and rear.

The new model is equipped with a slew of cutting-edge technologies, including the new-generation NordThor hybrid-dedicated power system, the Galaxy 11-in-1 intelligent electric drive system, panoramic surround AI intelligent audio system, AI-powered intelligent seats, Galaxy AI digital assistant, and an AI digital chassis.

As per the official announcement, the Geely Galaxy Starship displayed at the exhibition is not the final mass-production version. The production version is expected to officially debut next year.

Ji Yue 07

Ji Yue, the automotive robot (Robocar) brand jointly developed by Baidu and Geely, took the wraps off its second production model, the Ji Yue 07, at the auto show.

It is scheduled for official launch later this year, with both voice and smart driving features set to be upgraded to the 2.0 version in the third quarter of the year. Software updates are planned on a monthly basis.

The exterior design of the Ji Yue 07 features a closed front, complemented by Y-shaped headlights that provide a striking visual impact and high recognizability. The vehicle also comes with a distinctive new green color option.

The Ji Yue 07 is outfitted with intelligent AI pixel headlights and voice functionality both inside and outside the vehicle, enabling users to engage in natural interactions and express emotions with SIMO, the AI voice companion.

On the sides, the new model sports a coupe-like sedan design with a sleek, sporty fastback profile. Detail-wise, the design includes low-drag wheels, compact exterior rearview mirrors, and concealed door handles, all aimed at enhancing aerodynamics.

BYD Auto

As a leader in China's new energy vehicle sector, BYD Auto made a significant impact at this auto show, showcasing a range of models including the Qin L DM-i, Seal 06 DM-i, OCEAN-M, Sea Lion 07 EV, DENZA Z9GT, and YANGWANG U7.

Qin L DM-i

BYD Dynasty range's newest mid-size sedan, the Qin L DM-i, made its global debut at the Auto China 2024. This model is slated to hit the market in the second quarter of this year with an estimated starting price of 120,000 yuan.

As BYD Dynasty's latest mid-sized sedan, the Qin L's design philosophy integrates a dragon's dynamism into the vehicle's contours, evolving to embody the grandeur of the Qin Dynasty. The front of the Qin L features a bold "Dragon Chant" face, while its sides are sleek and elegant. The rear is designed with an ultra-wide shoulder, giving the car a broad and low stance.

The interior of the Qin L draws inspiration from traditional Chinese paintings, creating an elegant "landscape-painting cockpit." The integrated central console features a centerpiece revolving large screen that unfolds like an Eastern scroll across a jade-like dashboard, offering a strong wraparound sense. This setup is complemented by luxurious space, ergonomically designed plush "cloud feel" seats, and a suspension system comprising a front MacPherson and rear multi-link independent setup, ensuring a ride that is both comfortable and stable, transforming driving into a pleasurable experience.

Seal 06 DM-i

As BYD's latest mid-size sedan, the Seal 06 DM-i boasts a 2,790 mm wheelbase, offering both luxurious space and an aesthetically pleasing design. It features BYD's new Ocean Aesthetics design philosophy, presenting an elegant and dynamic form while utilizing high-quality materials and attention to detail. The car is built on a newly developed PHEV-dedicated platform with a novel E-type four-link independent suspension, incorporating BYD's latest technologies. This model is designed to meet the needs of young families, providing a high-quality new energy transportation option that surpasses traditional models in its class.

The Seal 06 DM-i model is set to hit the market in the second quarter of this year. With a price range of 120,000 yuan to 150,000 yuan, it effectively fills the market gap between the Seal DM-i and the Destroyer 05, accelerating the replacement of traditional gasoline-powered vehicles and propelling BYD's new energy initiatives forward.

OCEAN-M

Specifically designed for a young demographic, the OCEAN-M debuted globally at the Auto China 2024. It is priced between 150,000 yuan and 200,000 yuan and set to hit the market in the third quarter of 2024. The model features a new level of aesthetic design and a dedicated pure electric platform that offers a distinctive appearance and exceptional sports handling capabilities.

Powered by BYD's innovative BEV-dedicated platform, the OCEAN-M is equipped with several state-of-the-art technologies, including the next-generation CTB (cell-to-body) technology, an X-in-one intelligent electric drive system, and the iTAC (intelligent torque adaption control) technology, ensuring industry-leading safety, control, and energy efficiency.

Sea Lion 07 EV

As the first heavyweight model in the Sea Lion series and BYD Ocean range's inaugural mid-size all-electric SUV, the Sea Lion 07 EV is priced around 200,000 yuan and will go on sale next month. 

Riding on BYD's latest BEV-dedicated platform, the model integrates several pioneering technologies and cutting-edge design elements, such as the "God's Eye" advanced intelligent driver assistance system, the new-generation CTB full-vehicle safety architecture, the Super iTAC, and the DiSus C system, among others, combining safety, aesthetic appeal, comfort, intelligence, performance, and efficiency in a powerful package that delivers a comprehensive intelligent mobility experience for consumers.

DENZA Z9GT

At the Auto China 2024, DENZA, a premium electric vehicle brand under BYD, globally premiered its luxury flagship sedan, the DENZA Z9GT.

The new model, designed for both the Chinese and international markets, is expected to have an overseas price tag potentially exceeding one million yuan.

The Z9GT debuts DENZA's new design philosophy, "Elegance in Motion," masterfully crafted by BYD's global design director Wolfgang Josef Egger to merge Eastern and Western aesthetics, embodying elegance that suits both stillness and motion.

The Z9GT is positioned as a D-segment sedan, with dimensions of 5,180mm in length, 1,990mm in width, and a height ranging from 1,500mm to 1,480mm, and a wheelbase of 3,125mm. It incorporates the innovative CTB (Cell to Body) technology. Additionally, the Z9GT provides various LiDAR optional configurations and includes the "God's Eye" advanced intelligent driving assistance system.

YANGWANG U7

BYD's YANGWANG premium new energy vehicle brand offered the first glimpse of its fire new YANGWANG U7 model at the Auto China 2024.

Positioned as a flagship sedan in the million-yuan-level new energy vehicle segment, the vehicle is the first model to incorporate the DiSus-Z system, and is scheduled for market launch in the second half of the year.

The YANGWANG U7 boasts 1,300hp and can zip from 0-100km/h in 2.9 seconds with a top speed of 270km/h. It comes standard with high-performance carbon-ceramic brake discs, achieving a braking distance of 33m from 100-0km/h. Its drag coefficient is only 0.195Cd under the 120km/h testing condition.

2024 NIO ET7 Executive Edition

At the Auto China 2024, the 2024 NIO ET7 Executive Edition, a smart electric high-end executive sedan designed to meet the needs of users in business scenarios, hit the market.

The new model has been upgraded in interior and exterior design, chassis control, intelligent cockpit, intelligent driving, vehicle safety, and energy replenishment experience. It continues NIO's Design for AD design concept, leading the trend in executive sedan design. Priced at 428,000 yuan, the 2024 ET7 Executive Edition is now available for pre-order and will begin delivery on April 30.

The 2024 ET7 Executive Edition offers optional NIO Link panoramic interconnected screens for the rear seats, featuring two 14.5-inch OLED high-definition displays with a 3K resolution and a 16:10 golden display ratio.

Leapmotor C16

Leapmotor held the pre-sale launch event for its C16 SUV at the Auto China 2024 on April 25.

As the company's first all-scenario multi-purpose mid-to-large-sized six-seater SUV model, the top-spec C16 variant is priced at no more than 200,000 yuan. Customers who place a deposit of 1,000 yuan before the official market launch of the C16 can enjoy a pre-sale benefit of a 5,000-yuan discount on the final purchase price.

The C16 is the flagship model of the Leapmotor's LEAP 3.0 technology architecture. Built on Leapmotor's comprehensive self-developed technologies, the C16 combines the spacious design and comfort experience of an MPV with the styling and multi-scenario functionality of an SUV to better meet the diverse travel needs of families.

Second-generation AION V

At the Auto China 2024, GAC AION officially unveiled its first global strategic model, the second-generation AION V.

The second-generation AION V was created by a global design team from Los Angeles, Milan, Shanghai, and Guangzhou. The styling of the new AION V draws inspiration from the classic vitality totem of the tyrannosaurus, maximizing the vehicle's classic and pure rugged genes.

The new vehicle features the "Blade Shadow Momentum" design language, characterized by sharp lines and rectangular features, adorned with cybernetic dragon claw elements throughout its design. It also includes the AION lettering at the rear. The official dimensions for this model are a length of 4,605 mm and a wheelbase of 2,775 mm.

As an all-electric SUV, the second-generation AION V achieves a range of up to 750 km and is equipped with GAC Group’s proprietary second-generation ITS2.0 intelligent temperature control system, allowing for a charge of 370 km in just 15 minutes.
