Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On April 25, at the Auto China 2024, DENZA, a premium electric vehicle brand under BYD, globally premiered its luxury flagship sedan, the DENZA Z9GT.

The new model, designed for both the Chinese and international markets, is expected to have an overseas price tag potentially exceeding one million yuan.

The Z9GT debuts DENZA's new design philosophy, "Elegance in Motion," masterfully crafted by BYD’s global design director Wolfgang Josef Egger to merge Eastern and Western aesthetics, embodying elegance that suits both stillness and motion.

The vehicle features a corona-styled front face and dual coronal headlights that reflect a design ethos of symmetry and balance, influenced by the Chinese philosophical tradition of seeking harmony in all things.

The side profile of the car showcases a refined "Z" decorative line, with a long hood, rear-set center of gravity, and an elegant stance that emphasizes its distinctive GT aesthetics.

The rear is broad and rounded, featuring "Time Hourglass" taillights that stretch laterally from the center, complemented by a crane-style floating spoiler, enhancing the car's distinctive recognition.

The Z9GT is positioned as a D-segment sedan, with dimensions of 5,180mm in length, 1,990mm in width, and a height ranging from 1,500mm to 1,480mm, and a wheelbase of 3,125mm. It incorporates the innovative CTB (Cell to Body) technology. Additionally, the Z9GT provides various LiDAR optional configurations and includes the "God's Eye" advanced intelligent driving assistance system.

At the Auto China 2024, Zhao Changjiang, Chief Co-Creation Officer at DENZA, announced that the Z9GT is built on the cutting-edge e3 platform.

According to DENZA, the e3 platform is the world’s first model to achieve three independent motor drives and unique rear-wheel steering, supporting R&D of both BEVs (battery electric vehicles) and PHEVs (plug-in hybrid electric vehicles). It seamlessly combines agility, intelligence, and safety, redefining luxury standards. Thanks to the platform, the Z9GT has surpassed a moose test at a speed of 85 km/h. With a nearly 5.2-meter length, it achieves a turning radius under five meters, has a peak power of nearly 1,000 horsepower, and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just about two seconds.

The automaker has adopted the name "DENZA" to build a unified global product naming system. The "Z" symbolizes technology and peak performance, designating the sedan series.

DENZA added the introduction of the Z9GT, the first in the "Z" series, not only expands DENZA’s smart product range and broadens consumer choices but also positions DENZA as the globe's first luxury new energy brand to cover MPVs, SUVs, and sedans comprehensively.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
