Beijing (Gasgoo)- On April 25, Chinese new energy vehicle maker Leapmotor held the pre-sale launch event for its C16 SUV at the Auto China 2024 in Beijing.

As the company’s first all-scenario multi-purpose mid-to-large-sized six-seater SUV model, the top-spec C16 variant is priced at no more than 200,000 yuan. Customers who place a deposit of 1,000 yuan before the official market launch of the C16 can enjoy a pre-sale benefit of a 5,000-yuan discount on the final purchase price.

The C16 is the flagship model of the Leapmotor’s LEAP 3.0 technology architecture. Built on Leapmotor's comprehensive self-developed technologies, the C16 combines the spacious design and comfort experience of an MPV with the styling and multi-scenario functionality of an SUV to better meet the diverse travel needs of families.

With a utilization rate of up to 67% of the interior space, the C16 maximizes space efficiency. Thanks to the integration of the CTC 2.0 (Cell-to-Chassis) technology, the vehicle body and battery pack are seamlessly integrated, with the battery control module integrated into the battery pack, achieving a flat floor design and effectively increasing interior height space.

The C16 is equipped with a 15.6-inch high-definition rear-seat ceiling screen for various entertainment activities, and features Leapmotor's top-notch 21-speaker luxury sound system with 7.1.4 channels, providing an immersive music experience.

Moreover, the C16 offers both range-extended electric and battery-electric powertrains. The all-electric models feature Leapmotor's all-domain 800V high-voltage silicon carbide platform, offering fast charging capability. The C16 can be charged from 30%-80% of its battery capacity in just 15 minutes.

The C16 also comes standard with features such as the automaker’s Four-Leaf Clover central integrated electronic and electrical architecture, Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295 chip, a new generation of LEAP OS system, a 14.6-inch 2.5K high-definition central control screen, advanced driver assistance systems with LiDAR and OrinX, panoramic sunroof, and electric tailgate.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
