Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On April 22, the government of Anting Town and ZF Group inked a cooperation agreement, under which the ZF Passive Safety Systems Asia-Pacific headquarters (APHQ) and R&D center will be set up in Anting Town of Jiading District, Shanghai.

ZF is a global technology company supplying mobility products and systems for passenger cars, commercial vehicles and industrial technology. Its product range is primarily aimed at vehicle manufacturers, mobility providers and start-up companies in the fields of transportation and mobility. Since entering the Chinese market in 1981, ZF Group has established nearly 50 factories, 4 R&D centers, and employed over 20,000 staff members in China.

The project of ZF's passive safety systems APHQ and R&D center, which was signed and launched this time, primarily focuses on the research and development of intelligent safety systems, providing intelligent solutions for the Asia-Pacific region and even the global market.

Last year, Anting Town's government and ZF Group conducted an on-site inspection of the Taidong Commercial Building located at No.4268 Bao'an Highway. Both parties reached a preliminary agreement, with the Shanghai Anting Economic Development Center leasing the building from the property owner, Shanghai Jiahuang House Property Development Co., Ltd., and handling the renovation and reconstruction on behalf of ZF.

The decoration of the Taidong Commercial Building is about to commence, with an estimated handover to ZF expected by the end of July this year. Additionally, plans include the construction of a 3,500m2 R&D laboratory, which is expected to be completed by the middle of next year.

Upon completion, the ZF Passive Safety Systems APHQ and R&D center is expected to contribute approximately 80 million yuan in annual tax payment for the first five years and around 120 million yuan annually for the subsequent five years.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
