Tesla to adopt Baidu Maps V20 smart navigation system in China

At the Baidu Apollo automotive intelligence product launch event held on April 22, Baidu Maps’ V20 version made its debut, unveiling four major versions.

Beijing (Gasgoo)- At the Baidu Apollo automotive intelligence product launch event held on April 22, Baidu Maps’ V20 version made its debut, unveiling four major versions.

The Basic Edition features unrestricted and free upgrades. The 3D Leading Edition will come standard in all intelligent vehicles in collaboration, offering superb in-car navigation experience. The 3D Flagship Edition is equipped with Qualcomm’s 8295 chip, and the SR Intelligent Driving Edition serve top-spec vehicle models with urban intelligent driving functions.

Notably, the Baidu Maps V20 3D Leading Edition and Flagship Edition, as well as the SR Intelligent Driving Edition, support not only iOS and Android operating systems but also Linux, QX, and HarmonyOS.

Baidu's Vice President, Shang Guobin, stated that Baidu Maps V20 will be fully rolled out soon, supporting in-car 3D lane-level navigation. He also announced that Tesla models in China will be the first to be equipped with the Baidu Maps V20 3D Leading Edition, with rollouts to both new and existing Tesla owners starting in May.

Additionally, four companies will be deployed with the Baidu Maps V20 version, with Ji Yue and Huawei (including HarmonyOS-powered vehicles and Huawei HI models) being the only ones currently disclosed. Two leading automakers with high sales volume remained temporarily unnamed.
