Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Recently, Lynk & Co, the car brand jointly owned by Geely and Volvo Cars, announced on April 17 the Lynk & Co 08 EM-P 120 Long Range Plus hit the market as a new edition to the Lynk & Co 08 EM-P series.

This new premium SUV starts at an official guidance price of 195,800 yuan, but for a limited time, it's available from just 179,800 yuan. It comes equipped with the LYNK Flyme Auto intelligent cockpit system, boasting an impressive combined range of over 1,200 km.

Design-wise, the new model retains the aesthetic continuity of its predecessor, embracing the sleek "The Next Day" design language. It features trendy, full-width front lights and distinctly sharp lines along with Y-shaped daytime running lights that enhance its visual identity. The vehicle also sports split-type headlights and a semi-closed front fascia that underscore its electric, futuristic vibe.

The vehicle's side profile is clean and streamlined, featuring the Lynk & Co 08's signature borderless side design that blends the windows effortlessly into the body, giving it a sleek, edgeless appearance. The rear is neatly designed with a continuous light strip, equipped with a diffuser, and topped with a spoiler and hidden rear wiper, all contributing to its refined and sophisticated look. The dimensions are notable too, with a length of 4,820mm, width of 1,915mm, and height of 1,685mm, standing on a wheelbase of 2,848mm.

Despite its competitive pricing under 180,000 yuan, the new vehicle does not skimp on features. It boasts two proprietary 7nm SE1000 chips, offering superior processing power that enhances the LYNK Flyme Auto system's performance for smoother, more responsive multi-scenario intelligent interactions and better integration with various smartphone brands.

From a safety perspective, the car is fortified with aerospace-grade 7-series aluminum alloy front crash beams and other advanced materials, alongside a robust DP1180 battery protective plate.

Additionally, the new vehicle supports 4.1kW PTC heating, robust 85kW charging capabilities, and a 3.3kW V2L (vehicle-to-load) feature.

As the inaugural new energy vehicle developed on the CMA Evo architecture, the Lynk & Co 08 EM-P is powered by the EM-P super range-extender electric solution and supports the DHT Evo dual-motor electric drive system. The newly released edition is fitted with a 21.2 kWh battery pack that delivers a CLTC-certified range of 120 km on battery power alone, pushing the total range capability to over 1,200 km.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
