Easpring Material Technology's domestic and international projects involving Lithium Iron Phosphate (Manganese) have made progress. The LFP products in Panzhihua are scheduled to be launched this month, while the LMFP project in Finland is planning for a production capacity of 300,000 tons.

Easpring Material Technology has accelerated the progress of domestic and foreign projects such as the one in Panzhihua, Sichuan. This month, the lithium iron phosphate (LFP) products have come offline, with the precursor provided by a top manufacturer and a project capacity of 60,000 tons. After the Panzhihua project's capacity ramp-up, it effectively relieved the pressure of renting production lines from other lithium iron enterprises due to insufficient capacity. In terms of capacity expansion overseas, the overall planned capacity of the project in Finland is 500,000 tons, with 200,000 tons for various materials and 300,000 tons for lithium iron phosphate (Mn) batteries. The project will be constructed in phases, with the first phase building a 60,000-ton high-nickel material production line that is designed to meet the requirements of ultra-high nickel and high-nickel polycrystalline and monocrystalline, while also having the ability to produce nickel products in the production process.

Vietnam Aims to Boost Lithium Battery Supply Chain with Stronger Logistics
Vietnam aims to become a key hub in the global lithium battery supply chain, but needs stronger logistics infrastructure to handle sensitive and hazardous goods like lithium batteries safely and efficiently. Logistics challenges include specialised storage, transport and handling systems, especially through major ports such as Hai Phong and Cai Mep, Thi Vai, where current systems lag behind production growth. Effective logistics is seen as crucial to supporting the country’s ambitions in EV and energy storage exports and attracting further investment in battery manufacturing hubs across Vietnam.

SK On Consolidates Georgia Operations into Single Production System
SK On will transition to a unified production system centered on its SK Battery America (SKBA) operations in Georgia to improve efficiency in North America. According to the company on the 3rd, starting April 6 (local time), production volumes from SKBA’s first plant will be transferred to the second plant. In addition, part of the second plant’s production lines will be converted from electric vehicle (EV) battery manufacturing to energy storage system (ESS) production. The Georgia Plant 1 has an annual capacity of 10GWh and began commercial operations in the first quarter of 2022, while Plant 2 has a capacity of 12GWh and started operations in the fourth quarter of 2022.
