Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On April 18, Geely Galaxy, the new energy vehicle range under Geely Auto, unveiled a teaser image of its first full-sized SUV prototype, which is set to be unveiled at the forthcoming Auto China 2024 in Beijing next week.

Positioned as a flagship SUV, the model will be built on a new AI-driven architecture and features an innovative design language, according to Geely. It will premiere cutting-edge AI interaction technologies and incorporates Geely's latest in-house developed technologies related to battery, electric motor, and electric control system.

The teaser reveals a standard full-size SUV design, with elongated headlights expected to include through-type LED daytime running lights. The vehicle also features a closed-off grille design, enhanced with a luminous dot matrix pattern that becomes highly recognizable when lit.

Additional details include touch-sensitive door handles, suggesting a possible suicide door configuration. The prototype also features aerodynamic, triangular-style wheels and a smooth waistline that extends along the sides, giving the vehicle a broad visual stance.

Previously, Geely Galaxy officially announced the name of its new all-electric SUV model, the Geely Galaxy E5, with a price range anticipated between 150,000 yuan to 200,000 yuan. Notably, the Galaxy E5 is aimed at the global market, with development and testing for both left and right-hand drive versions, and plans for sales in global markets. Power-wise, the model is equipped with a 160 kW electric motor paired with a lithium iron phosphate battery pack. It is expected to debut at the Auto China 2024 as well.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
