Electric Furnace Operating Rate: Destocking, high-priced scrap steel being the biggest constraint

According to SMM research, as of April 16, the operating rate of 50 electric arc furnace steel mills acorss the country who mainly produce rebar was 36.42%, up 0.40 percentage points from a week ago. Their avaeage capacity utilisation rate was 37.03%, down 0.59 percentage points WoW. Their daily average rebar output was 82,500 mt, down 1,300 mt WoW.
