On April 16, Honda officially launched an all-new electric vehicle (EV) series “烨” (Ye) tailored for the Chinese market.

Beijing (Gasgoo)- On April 16, Honda officially launched an all-new electric vehicle (EV) series“烨” ("Ye") tailored for the Chinese market.

The Ye Series debuts three new models, the Ye S7, Ye P7, and Ye GT CONCEPT. The Ye S7 and Ye P7, the first models under the marque, will hit the market by the end of 2024. The Ye GT CONCEPT, the second model, will see its production version launched in 2025.

The Chinese character “烨”, which means “shine brilliantly,” represents Honda’s desire to enable everyone who drives Ye Series models to unleash their innermost passions through the joy of driving, and let their individuality shine brilliantly.

Globally, Ye is the first to use the new "H" logo exclusive to the next generation of Honda’s battery electric vehicles. It adopts the new intelligent and efficient pure electric Architecture W. Honda plans to introduce six new Ye Series models by 2027.

Designed by Honda China's young R&D team, the Ye brand integrates leading Chinese technology and resources with Honda's latest technology, offering Chinese consumers a new driving experience.

The Architecture W features a three-in-one high-power drive motor and a large-capacity, high-density battery with an integrated die-cast all-aluminum casing. It also employs a specially designed split-isolation battery cooling system for multiple layers of battery safety.

The Architecture W offers both single-motor rear-wheel drive and dual-motor all-wheel drive powertrains. The former relies on a high-power rear-drive motor for a 50:50 weight distribution. The latter utilizes high-power drive motors at the front and rear, coupled with electronic suspension, to precisely distribute power to the front and rear wheels based on different road conditions and driving needs.

The chassis features a highly adjustable double-wishbone front suspension and a 5-link rear suspension, enhancing vehicle stability and agility with Honda's sport-tuned technology.

With highly expandable FoD services, the Architecture W allows for various driving modes and personalized driving experiences beyond the ordinary, catering to different preferences and delivering exciting and fun driving experiences.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
