Beijing (Gasgoo)- On April 15, smart LiDAR solution provider RoboSense hosted its "REDEFINED" 2024 new product launch event, unveiling the new-generation mid-to-long range LiDAR, MX.

Leveraging its advanced features, MX has secured three new mass production projects, with the first set to commence large-scale production in the first half of 2025.

The company said the MX is the industry's first full-stack system-on-chip LiDAR With its sleek design, MX boasts unparalleled thinness at 25mm, ultra-quiet operation, and less than 10W ultra-low power consumption. It offers a maximum detection range of 200 meters, a field of view of 120°×25°, and 126 lines (ROI equivalent to 251 lines), enhancing safety and efficiency in intelligent driving.

Compared to the company’s previous models, the MX has reduced its volume by 40% and thickness by 44%, measuring only 25mm. Its area exposed outside of the window has also decreased by 80%. The MX can be flexibly embedded in various positions such as the windshield, roof, headlights, and grille, seamlessly integrating with the vehicle's design for easy deployment.

Another highlight of the MX is its intelligent evolution. With upgraded "Gaze" function, the MX can dynamically adjust both horizontally and vertically, transitioning from "single-dimensional intelligence" to "all-around intelligence," making it the industry's first LiDAR sensor capable of dynamic scanning adjustments in all dimensions.

RoboSense has prepared comprehensively for the accelerated application of LiDAR technology. At the event, RoboSense unveiled its MARS smart manufacturing headquarters base. Covering an area of 100,000 square meters, the smart manufacturing park has begun construction and is expected to be operational by the third quarter of 2024. By the first quarter of 2025, the first batch of MX products will roll off the production line from the MARS base, ready for mass production and onboard application.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
