Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On April 15, BYD officially launched teaser images of the brand-new sedan model under the Dynasty series, the Qin L.

Price-wise, considering the price range of the Qin PLUS and BYD Han, the starting price of the new car is estimated to be above 120,000 yuan.

Viewing from its front, the Qin L well combines traditional Eastern aesthetics with modern high-tech sense, featuring slender and sharp LED headlights that seamlessly integrate with the upward glowing "dragon whiskers". The integrated design not only makes the exterior more sculptural but also broadens the visual width of the front end.

The new sedan boasts a sleek side profile, characterized by a dual-segment waistline and a smooth roofline. The rear of the Qin L appears broad and robust with taillights that incorporate the iconic "Chinese knot" element of BYD’s Dynasty series, sharing lineage with the Han and Song L models.

In terms of dimensions, according to the information declared to China's MIIT (Ministry of Industry and Information Technology), the new car measures 4,830mm in length, 1,900mm in width, and 1,495mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,790mm. For comparison, the dimensions of the current Qin PLUS model is 4,765mm in length, 1,837mm in width, and 1,495mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,718mm. Thus, the Qin L is significantly larger than the Qin PLUS, nearly reaching the standard dimensions of a mid-sized car.

The Qin L will come with a plug-in hybrid system that combines a 1.5L engine and an electric motor, boasting BYD's 5th-generation DM-i hybrid technology.

The engine packs a punch with a maximum power output of 74 kw, while the electric motor delivers an impressive 160kw. Furthermore, it's equipped with a lithium iron phosphate battery pack from Zhengzhou FinDreams Battery (a battery manufacturer wholly-owned by BYD), offering consumers a choice between 15.874 kWh and 10.08 kWh capacities, providing ranges of 90km and 60km on battery power alone, respectively.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
