Shanghai (Gasgoo)- BYD recently launched the all-new MC Cube-T energy storage system, a noteworthy addition with a substantial capacity of 6.432 MWh, which has officially begun its delivery process, according to a press release BYD issued via its WeChat account on April 13.

The newly introduced MC Cube-T system adheres strictly to the new national standard GB/T 36276, achieving significant performance enhancements, said CATL. Compared to its predecessor, the energy capacity of individual cells and cubes has increased by up to 11%, with the system's total energy capacity surging by as much as 35.8%. This improvement provides a more outstanding energy storage solution for users.

Technologically, the MC Cube-T incorporates the new-generation large-capacity, long-blade batteries and introduces CTS (Cell to System) technology for the first time, enabling direct integration of cells into the battery system. This innovative design not only enhances energy efficiency but also allows for flexible combinations of single cubes and any system capacity, offering users a more flexible and convenient experience, the company added.

Besides, the MC Cube-T system features a compact design with a significantly reduced footprint—up to 24.7% smaller than its predecessor in typical layout units. This optimization not only saves valuable space but also helps reduce installation and maintenance costs.

The original MC Cube system was released on May 24 last year, attracting wide industry attention with its integrated Blade Battery technology. With the launch of the all-new MC Cube-T, BYD's technical prowess in the energy storage sector is once again robustly demonstrated.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
