Geely Holding scores YoY growth of 23% in Mar. 2024 auto sales

Zhejiang Geely Holding Group (Geely Holding) announced on Thursday that its automobile sales volume reached around 260,700 units in the third month of 2024, jumping 23% year on year (YoY).

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Zhejiang Geely Holding Group ("Geely Holding") announced on Thursday that its automobile sales volume reached around 260,700 units in the third month of 2024, jumping 23% year on year (YoY).

Of the vehicles the group sold last month, 94,900 units were contributed by new energy vehicles (NEVs), representing a YoY jump of 21% and accounting for 36% of Geely Holding's overall auto sales.

For the first quarter of 2024, Geely Holding recorded a cumulative sales volume of 738,400 vehicles, registering a 27% rise over a year earlier.

Geely Holding encompasses key automotive entities such as Geely Auto Group, Volvo Cars, PROTON, Lynk & Co, Lotus Cars, Polestar, LEVC (London EV Company), smart, RADAR, and Farizon Auto.

Geely Auto Group, comprising Geely, Lynk & Co, ZEEKR, and Livan Auto brands, reported a sales volume of 150,835 units for the month of March 2024, witnessing a 39% YoY leap. In the month, its new energy vehicle sales amounted to 44,791 units, surging 65% from a year earlier.

For the first three months of this year, Geely Auto Group sold 475,720 vehicles in total, which zoomed up 49% from the previous year.

Breaking down the performance of individual brands within Geely Auto Group, Geely brand's sales reached 118,152 units in March, showing an upward movement of 34% over the previous year. Lynk & Co achieved a monthly sales figure of 19,671 units, which zoomed up 40% year over year. Notably, ZEEKR demonstrated a remarkable YoY spike of 95%, with a total delivery volume of 13,012 units in the month.

In addition, Volvo Cars, part of the Geely Holding Group, recorded a global sales volume of 78,970 units (+25% YoY) in March, resulting in a year-to-date sales volume of 182,687 vehicles (+12% YoY). Notably, the carmaker's monthly sales in the Chinese market stood at 14,005 units in March, reflecting a 21% YoY growth.
