On April 11, Chinese new energy vehicle maker XPENG put a new edition of its XPENG G6 model, the 580 Long-range Plus, onto the market, with a limited-time promotional price of 179,900 yuan.

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On April 11, Chinese new energy vehicle maker XPENG put a new edition of its XPENG G6 model, the 580 Long-range Plus, onto the market, with a limited-time promotional price of 179,900 yuan.

The launch of this new product signifies a further reduction in the entry-level price of the XPENG G6 lineup. In June 2023, the XPENG G6 hit the market with five variants available, priced between 209,900 yuan and 276,900 yuan. On March 3 this year, XPENG announced a limited-time discount of 20,000 yuan across all G6 models until March 31, 2024, with prices starting at 189,900 yuan after the discount.

The newly launched G6 580 Long-range Plus edition, which adjusts some comfort settings based on the original 580 PRO version, further lowered the entry barrier for the full-domain 800V silicon carbide platform and advanced intelligent driving capabilities to 179,900 yuan.

In terms of appearance, the new car features an overall dark night black color scheme paired with smoked black exterior kits, and even the car logo has been changed to black, giving it a very sporty look. The closed grille, combined with the through-type light strip and split-type front lights on either side, are highly unmistakable. Additionally, the new car is equipped with LiDAR and incorporates a blackened grille design at the front.

From the side, the new car's profile is relatively sleek, with a slightly sloping fastback design, hidden door handles, black window frames, and black rearview mirrors, contributing to a strong stylish sense. Moreover, the XPENG G6 is armed with 20-inch black sports wheels.

At the rear, the thick-walled combination LED taillight design not only corresponds in design to the front of the car but also stands out when lit. Furthermore, the new car's rear badges are also treated in black.

The new vehicle's interior design is in stark contrast to the exterior, featuring a more minimalist soft light beige interior. The LCD instrument panel, paired with the built-in Xmart OS 4.0 in-car intelligent system and supporting full-scenario voice assistant 2.0 among other functions, along with a large central control screen and an oval-shaped dual-spoke multifunction steering wheel, exudes a strong sense of technology.

The XPENG G6's entire series comes standard with a full-domain 800V high-voltage SiC platform and 3C cells. Thanks to a super low air resistance design that is good for 0.248Cd, heat pumps, an efficient thermal management system, and the body light-weighting brought by front and rear integrated aluminum casting, it achieves an impressive long range of 755 kilometers and an energy consumption of 13.2 kWh per 100 kilometers. Furthermore, the XPENG G6 can achieve an increase of 300 km in range with just 10 minutes of charging at S3/S4 supercharging stations.

The XPENG G6 is equipped with the advanced intelligent driving assistance system XNGP, which includes high-performance smart driving sensors such as LiDAR and HD binocular cameras, as well as dual Orin-X chips with a total computing power of up to 508 TOPS. As of April 10, XNGP has been fully rolled out in 257 cities.
