Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On April 7th, SAIC-GM-Wuling ("SGMW") announced the plan to launch its brand new architecture named Tianyu (in Chinese Pinyin) that integrates its advanced achievements in electrification and intelligence fields.

Designed with a user-oriented approach, the Tianyu architecture encompasses the vehicle R&D demands from A00 to C segments. It is set to be introduced at the launch event of Baojun Yep family's new products on April 12th, aiming to provide comprehensive mobility solutions for users’ needs.

The Tianyu architecture will focus on space, intelligence, driving control, and safety, said the automaker. The architecture is divided into three platforms: S, M, and D, covering a wide range of scenarios and vehicle sizes.

The S platform covers products in the size range of 2,500mm-3,500mm, specializing in "personalized compact city car" designed specifically for young individuals with distinctive personalities. Its core scenarios include commuting to and from work, urban socializing, and entertainment, not only fulfilling the need for convenience but also maximizing individuality, fun, and driving pleasure.

The M platform focuses on "mainstream medium-sized commute vehicles," spanning sizes from 3,500mm to 4,600mm, and is primarily aimed at young families. Its products are centered around economy, offering users a cost-effective driving experience with ample space, sufficient range, plenty of storage, and good power. It meets the vehicle needs for scenarios such as dropping off children, light suburban travel, and leisure shopping.

The D platform targets "all-scenario family vehicles," covering a size range of 4,600mm-5,000mm. Aimed at larger families with more extensive vehicle usage scenarios, models under the D platform integrate spacious comfort, luxury quality, worry-free range, and practical technology to provide an all-scenario driving experience.

In the future, Baojun will leverage the Tianyu architecture as a core technology foundation, continuing to provide users with a wide range of vehicle options that integrate automotive technologies into their lives.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
