Refined cobalt
Refined cobalt prices remained unchanged in the week ending April 3, with stable production, low smelter inventories, and relatively tight supply. Demand was weak, resulting in few inquiries and transactions, but sellers refrained from cutting prices.
Cobalt Intermediate Products
Prices for cobalt intermediate products remained steady in the week ending April 3. Available inventory was tightly controlled, leading to a scarcity of inexpensive stock. Occasional downstream buying occurred, but firm raw material costs led to deferred purchasing among buyers without urgent needs. Overseas turmoil led to a consensus to keep prices unchanged.
Cobalt salts (cobalt sulphate and cobalt chloride)
Cobalt salt prices declined in the week ending April 3, driven by reduced downstream demand and growing stockpiles. Cobalt sulphate demand was supported by downstream Co3O4 producers making purchases to deliver orders, but resistance to high prices from buyers and rising inventories have led to slight price reductions. Cobalt chloride prices also fell, impacted by lower interest in small-volume purchases
