【Samsung and SK Hynix are increasing DRAM production, expected to return to pre-cut levels】
SMM April 7th news, as global demand recovers, South Korean memory chip manufacturers Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix are ramping up DRAM wafer input in the second quarter of this year, effectively ending production cuts. Omdia stated that Samsung Electronics has increased its average monthly DRAM wafer input for the second quarter of this year to 600,000 pieces, a 13% increase from the previous quarter; it is expected that the DRAM wafer input for the second half of the year will increase to 660,000 pieces, returning DRAM production to pre-cut levels. SK Hynix will increase its average monthly DRAM wafer input from 390,000 pieces in the first quarter to 410,000 pieces in the second quarter; it is expected that the company's DRAM wafer input for the second half of the year will increase to 450,000 pieces.
