Beijing (Gasgoo)- On March 30, Dongfeng Motor officially unveiled the Aeolus L7, the first SUV model to be equipped with the Dongfeng Mach PHREV technology. The new vehicle is set to appear at the Auto China 2024 in April.

Externally, the Dongfeng Aeolus L7 embodies the design concept of a journey through light years, presenting a blend of technology. The dimensions of the new car are 4,685 mm in length, 1,905mm in width, 1,625mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,775mm. It incorporates intelligent lighting language to evoke a warm emotional response.

Internally, the Dongfeng Aeolus L7 adopts a floating island-style central console design, featuring 128-color dynamic ambient lighting and 13 speakers with independent amplification. The vehicle is equipped with the WindLink OS 3.0 smart cockpit and comes standard with the Qualcomm 8155 chip, a 14.6-inch LCD display, and a 10.25-inch LCD instrument panel. With 100% voice interaction across all scenarios, it achieves millisecond-level response time and can recognize six consecutive instructions within 10 seconds, offering comprehensive voice control of in-car functions.

The Dongfeng Aeolus L7 is the first model deployed with Dongfeng's Mach PHREV technology, featuring a 1.5T hybrid engine with a thermal efficiency of 45.18%, a comprehensive maximum power of 265kW, and a peak torque of 615N·m. Additionally, Dongfeng Motor developed a hybrid engine with a breakthrough thermal efficiency of 47%, aiming to surpass 48% by 2025, while also conducting research on new technologies to achieve a thermal efficiency breakthrough of 50%.

The Dongfeng Aeolus L7 features the i-Control intelligent electronic control system, with AI predictive energy management that automatically adjusts to the most fuel-efficient power mode by recognizing road conditions, offering optimal driving control for users.

Equipped with a 30.2kWh power battery, the Dongfeng Aeolus L7 features a battery-electric range of 205km, with a fuel consumption of 3.8L/100km (NEDC) and a comprehensive fuel consumption of 0.56L/100km (WLTC). With a charging power of 45kW, it takes only 26 minutes to charge from 30% to 80% SOC (State of Charge). It's worth mentioning that Dongfeng is currently developing solid-state batteries and 6C super-fast charging technology, which allows the battery to charge to 80% of its capacity in just 10 minutes.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
