March 29th spot market sees stability, with battery-grade index at 108,817 yuan/ton, while futures contract 2407 drops by 1.20%.

Spot Market Analysis: On March 29th, the spot market for lithium carbonate remained stable, with the SMM battery-grade lithium carbonate index reported at 108,817 yuan/ton, marking a decrease of 60 yuan/ton compared to the previous working day. Battery-grade lithium carbonate was quoted at 107,500-112,000 yuan/ton, with an average price of 109,700 yuan/ton, showing no significant change from the previous day. Industrial-grade lithium carbonate prices also held steady, with a price range of 103,000-106,500 yuan/ton and an average price of 104,700 yuan/ton.

Future Contract Analysis: The main contract for lithium carbonate 2407 experienced a decline of 1.20% on March 29th. Opening at 108,900 yuan/ton and closing at 107,050 yuan/ton, the contract saw a trading volume of 204,922 lots, with an open interest of 196,813 lots, indicating a decrease of 3,005 lots from the previous trading day. Despite the initial sharp decline in prices after opening, followed by a rebound and subsequent downturn, the main contract ultimately closed with a decrease of 1.20% from the previous day.

Market Outlook: Recent quotations from lithium salt companies have shown no significant changes, although there has been a resurgence in their willingness to hold prices for spot sales. Meanwhile, downstream industries, such as cathode materials, have maintained a cautious procurement approach after early-week stockpiling, with some companies adopting a wait-and-see attitude. Overall, the lithium carbonate spot market has witnessed stable transaction prices on both the supply and demand sides, indicating a balanced market sentiment with no notable fluctuations.
