Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On March 25, 2024, the Bangkok International Motor Show raised its curtains, marking a significant presence for ZEEKR Intelligent Technology. The Geely-owned electric vehicle maker made a splash with the debut of its ZEEKR X, ZEEKR 009, and ZEEKR 007 models, introducing the right-hand drive version of the ZEEKR X to the global stage for the first time.

At the event, ZEEKR announced the commencement of pre-sales for the right-hand drive versions of the ZEEKR X and ZEEKR 009 in Thailand, with deliveries set to begin in the third quarter of this year.

This presence signifies ZEEKR's strategic move into the global right-hand drive market, accelerating its international expansion efforts.

Leveraging the SEA (Sustainable Experience Architecture) platform, which supports both left and right-hand drive configurations, ZEEKR is poised to meet diverse market demands swiftly. The right-hand drive versions of the ZEEKR X and ZEEKR 009 not only comply with the E-NCAP and A-NCAP five-star safety standards, but also feature the latest HMI infotainment system. This system supports multiple languages, including Chinese, Thai, and English, ensuring a localized experience through recognition and communication capabilities. It comes equipped with a new overseas cabin ecosystem, offering support for local FM radio, HERE maps navigation, and popular apps such as Spotify, TikTok, Zoom, alongside CarPlay & Android Auto connectivity, OTA updates, and online network services.

As ZEEKR introduces its smart electric vehicles to Thai consumers, it adopts a 1+N business model, where "1" represents a subsidiary and "N" signifies multiple partners. This approach aims to enhance the convenience of smart electric mobility for consumers in Thailand.

Starting with Thailand, ZEEKR plans to extend its reach across Southeast Asia and other right-hand drive markets. In 2024, ZEEKR has already made its entrance into Southeast Asian countries like the Philippines, Laos, and Myanmar, and is progressively planning to start deliveries in mainstream right-hand drive markets including Singapore and the Hong Kong-Macau region.

In the Middle East, ZEEKR has partnered with the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Bahrain to offer premium electric mobility experiences. The first two pop-up stores have been launched in Saudi Arabia and the UAE, with the inaugural ZEEKR Space store set to open in both countries this April. Plans are also in place to expand into Kuwait, Morocco, Oman, and other markets, showcasing ZEEKR's commitment to delivering luxury electric mobility experiences globally.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
